These binoculars were issued solely to larger naval vessels ( only 500 were made ) such as cruisers and battleships,they are probably the largest hand-held military binocular ever made. You can use them with or without tripod. This one was made in 1940. It is also know as the CATAIN GLASS. The optics are impressing the view is exceptionally bright. It has Coated optics and filters.
